The Indian system of medicine known as Ayurveda has been a harbinger in the field of health maintenance. The basic principles of Ayurveda are based on the Indian Philosophical tenets that are quintessentially interwoven in the Indian culture and reflect the harmony of the man and the environment. Through the centuries the Ayurveda system of medicine has been catering to the needs of ailing community. However with the changing trends, the scientific and rational approach in the Āyurveda system is needed which is fulfilled by the process of research in Ayurveda. This special issue proposes to have an insight on the prospects of research in the Ayurveda system of medicine. Original research papers are solicited in any of the specialities of the Ayurveda and the scope of research.
